Q & A

Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

Running a graphic design business (successfully) for the last 10 years, and continuing to do so.

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

A typical day see's me up early, heading into my Richmond studio where I make a take away tea and head to the dog park with my pooch. Then it's back and down to business. Emails, phone calls, meetings and design work.

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

Spacious light filled studio in the heart of Richmond in Melbourne. I share with a friend who runs a digital agency so there's always something going on. We also have dogs-a-plenty in the studio which makes for a fun, positive and pretty cute workspace.

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

The fact that I have real business experience and understand the finer details of what it is like to run a business. This is really helpful to my customers as I not only provide creativity but a practical approach to their creative solution.

What are the tools of your trade?

Scrap paper, note book, huge iMac, Spotify, T2, Adobe Creative suite and whatever else gets the job done!

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Many others, most jobs cannot be done alone. I collaborate with a Digital agency for social media requests, photographer, copywriter, web developer and specialty printers.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

Work hard, stay focused!
