I have loved to write and create for as long as I can remember. I have also always been pulled towards helping people. I probably could have been a teacher if I had more patience (I am in awe of every teacher out there). One of my greatest passions is to learn, I am a lifelong learner always searching for that new nugget of knowledge and I am always wanting to pass this knowledge onto others as I truly believe knowledge is power. I want to share my growing knowledge with the world and that’s why I want to help you.

I’m an introvert, I’m socially awkward, I’m shy, I’m an empath and I’m a highly sensitive person. All this adds up to being a bit of a perfectionist who is always going above and beyond to help others when they ask for it, I may just be a bit quieter whilst I’m doing it.

I am also an obsessed puppy mum to Shi Tzu cross Silky Terrier Wally.

I could go into my Bachelor's degree in Media with a double major in Journalism and Screen and a minor in creative writing that I turned into a major through elective selections in my final year. I could talk about my Post-Graduate certificate in Editing and Publishing or the Diplomas in Social Media Marketing. I could also go on about how I went from customer service representative to assistant producer at Travelzoo by doing my job well and then taking on extra work to prove my worth. Or how I was chosen above others who had been producers for longer than me to be the maternity cover for the publisher of Travelzoo Asia Pacific. Or I could tell you how when I was an assistant publisher at finder I went out of my way and got extra training on my own time to prove that I could take control and manage the social media accounts for the business. You want to hear that I can help you set up and strategise your social media presence to build your brand and attract customers or clients. My love of writing is all well and good but what you want to hear is that I can use this love, passion and natural talent for the written word to help you build authority in your chosen business area. Or you want to know that I can help you build a blog and develop an editorial strategy that will feed into the building of authority, building your brand and also help you rank in Google searches. Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

What I am most proud of in my career is that I have worked my way from someone who left university with no experience in her chosen field and took retail and customer service jobs to make ends meet up to leading an editorial team at a successful company. Avid I am now stepping away from that role to go freelance, but I am still very proud of my journey.

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

Monday to Wednesday I have 5 hours per day in an office working for a PR agency, then the rest of the week I work from home on freelance work that I am able to get. I also do some dog walking and dog minding to give my puppy some company.

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

I work from home where my dog can either sit on my lap or next to me and my computer is at my desk with the TV on as background noise. I occasionally may duck out and do a few hours at the beach or a cafe or a co-working space.

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

I have over 6 years of experience in multiple companies across multiple niches from travel to finance to home design to parenting and health. I am most passionate about helping small business and brands build their web presence in order to appear in Google searches as well as help them build their social media presence to make sure their message is getting out there.

What are the tools of your trade?

Microsoft Office, a strong internet connection, Grammarly and a sturdy computer to use it all on. I also have Photoshop to make sure I can make adjustments to images to make sure the content I create looks its best.

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Not presently.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

I am just getting started but so far I have learnt that persistence and consistency are key to success.
