Q & A

Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

I completed the Academy at Jumbla, Melbourne. I loved it and hoped to keep working there and learning more. I got offered freelance there and it was such a good experience!

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

Fast-pace and busy. Working on storyboards, style frames, assets and animating. Lots of amendments and feedback from clients.

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

Fun and no-stress environment. I try to keep an uplifted mood and atmosphere when I work!

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

What sets me apart is that I have a variety of styles I can animate and create from. I like to experiment and never stick to one style. It gives me flexibility!

What are the tools of your trade?

Mac desktop, my Wacom tablet, Adobe suite, especially After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Yes I have. I have received animation files from other people and did amendments/fix some things. I think the most important thing is to keep your files clean and AE layers colour coded and named suitably. Not to create confusion for other animators working on the same file.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

That you need to work fast and make good work. You can't take your time doing everything perfect because that would be super time consuming. You just gotta do good work even with a strict deadline.
