Lorelei Campbell

Hola PR

Hola! My name is Lorelei Campbell and I am a public relations professional based in sunny Perth, Western Australia. I have had the honour of spending 15+ years in this industry which I love, working with a huge variety of clients over that time. I now run my own PR and communications consultancy, Hola PR, and help my clients with all their communications needs - from copywriting for blogs, newsletters and websites to media relations, influencer PR, content marketing and social media. It often feels like a bit of a cliche, but I truly love what I do. I love the variety each working day brings and the opportunity to really learn about a client's business and discover what it is their clients want from them and love about them. I have a bit of a bent towards the property sector, currently working for a number of building companies and property developers. However, also have a passion for the not for profit sector and love nothing more than helping a cause or charity get their message heard. I only take on a small number of clients at any given time as service is something I pride myself on. My clients are never just a number and can expect nothing but 110% from me. Great communication starts with a conversation and I welcome to the opportunity to chat to you about your future communications needs. Just drop me a line at info@holapr.com.au

Q & A

Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

In late 2015 I was awarded a national and state award for my public relations work on a campaign with a long term client. As a small business to be recognised nationally (amongst some of the big boys!) this felt pretty darn special.

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

A mix of desk time, phone calls and client meetings. But it is hard to say what a 'typical' week might be. Due to the quick moving nature of my industry being responsive to social media issues and media calls at any time and any moment is crucial in my job.

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

I work in a fabulous co-working space with a few other creatives in Inglewood, just 10 minutes from the heart of the Perth CBD. However I also am in and out of client's offices as and when they require.

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

I have had the experience of working in house, in a large consultancy (as a Director) and now in my own boutique consultancy. I understand business and have had the experience of running one, so understand all facets! There are so many great freelancers out there however, my advice to prospective clients is find the best fit for you and your business.

What are the tools of your trade?

I am a writer first and foremost, and love the traditional tools (written words, media etc), but also am a bit of a self confessed nerd when it comes to new media. I see it as my job to keep abreast of changes to social media tools and the media landscape generally.

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Absolutely. I know what I am good at and where my strengths lie. I also recognise that the best communications strategy is an integrated one and regularly work with other freelancers and agencies on client accounts.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

For me, it is only taking on a select number of clients at any one time. I always strive to go above and beyond for my clients and never take on more work than I can handle.
