My name is Melina, organisational goddess, social media maven, behind the systems gal and general all round cheerleader for the brilliant but overwhelmed and unorganised business owner! I am a corporate retiree turned soul led virtual assistant. I have over 20 year on the job experience in the legal industry which has paved the foundations for my technical, foundational and time efficient abilities, not to mention I understand small business, the ups and the downs. I am passionate about working alongside business owners to assist with their administrative overwhelm. I love using crystal clear communication when working with clients. I am open and flexible to working arrangements. Sounds kinda dorky but I love to get systems in place to get your business to a state where you are humming along efficiently and smoothly. Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

Best career move was quitting my full time office bound 8.30 am to 5.00 pm job in the legal industry and working with an online yoga studio with marketing, social media and LIVE class scheduling. It exposed me to what is possible in freelancing and that you don't have to be stuck in an air conditioned office the rest of your life!

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

My work week is semi structured, as I am working from home, I am able to wake up and do yoga (also a yoga teacher!). Then sit down and work for a few hours, spaced through the day. I sometimes meet clients for meetings if they are local but mostly working from home.

Open, airy with an amazing view to the trees and nature!

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

My approach to clients and work is heart lead, sounds kinda woo woo but that is how I work. I am intuitive, open and really invest myself into each client. I need to believe in what they are doing and their cause. I treat their businesses as if they were my own which creates that feeling with clients that I really care (because I really do!).

What are the tools of your trade?

Common sense, Mac, iPhone, Instagram and a great deal of initiative!

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Yes I love collaborating with others. If I am passionate about what they do as well. A team effort to co-create is a wonderful thing!

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

Value yourself and your skills and that your contribution to the world and clients is valued!
