Rebecca Thomson

Argo Print & Design

Hey! My name is Bec and I am a graphic designer. I work in my own boutique print and design studio specialising in branding for small to medium businesses, and cut my teeth working for a print company before venturing out on my own. I wasn't always a graphic designer, starting out in the legal industry which has given me a keen eye for detail.

I currently do some overflow work for a local council, so have worked for a wide range of clients. Hit me up, I love working collaboratively!

Q & A

Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

The best thing was when I finally worked out that it was graphic design that I was meant to be doing with my life and changed industries!

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

Working from home, it is a juggle between work and Mum duties, somehow always making it balance 🙂

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

A home-based studio, music always on, with two sleeping dogs (mostly), a couple of sheep in the paddock, intermittent client visits and plenty of deliveries!

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

My attention to detail and exceptional customer service.

What are the tools of your trade?

Illustrator, InDesign, Surface Pro, Sketchbook, pencils, fineliner.

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Yes, but I'd like to do it more! I collaborate a lot with trade printers, signmakers and garment printers. I collaborate occasionally with copywriters and photographers but would like to collaborate with more creatives.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

Trusting my instincts.
