Q & A

Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

Taking the leap into full time freelancing late 2016 and being able to support myself in my business. Looking back, it was a huge risk but at the time it seemed so natural.

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

Given the varied nature of the work and workload, it can be quite varied.

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

It's often at home in my office, which faces my garden. When it's lovely weather, I sit in my courtyard to smash out deadlines. And if I need variety, I'll pop off to the library or a local cafe.

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

Besides having a lot of marketing experience and an experienced SEO writer, I am also a creative writer and author, which means I have the ability to dedicate myself to large projects.

What are the tools of your trade?

My laptop, a decent pen, instrumental music and a scented candle.

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

Not often but I am not opposed to it.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

I've been keeping an "intuition register" of potential clients that seek quotes. I make sure to take note of what my gut tells me about the potential client; whether they will be a PITA or difficult or a dream client. What I've learnt the most is that my gut/intuition is one hundred per cent right, every time.
