VB Designs

If you're looking to partner with a local design studio that likes to work WITH you to help your business grow then read on.... We are passionate about helping business owners around Australia and New Zealand to elevate their business through innovative graphic design.

We understand you need your marketing material to stand out to your prospects and we work in alignment with your brand and strategy to achieve this. We create long-term partnerships with our amazing clients to grow together and it's highly rewarding to see a business taken to the next level. Having been a freelance designer for over 10 years, I started my business as a solo freelance designer in 2009 and have now built an experienced passionate team to cater to our growing client base, many of whom have been with us from the start. That's extremely satisfying.

It took me a while to really figure out my path and being a 'mature' student in my early 30's when I complete my Diploma in Graphic Art and Design, I'm truly passionate about I do as it took me a few years to discover my direction. After much soul searching and always having a keen interest in design, I wanted to create a career I loved for the rest of my working life.

With a solid understanding and experience with print and online media and working with an array of industries and projects around Australia, NZ (and a growing client base globally), we can provide you with design work that is unique to your business.

Whether you need advice on stock, colours, size or finish of your product, the entire process will be managed for you from concept and design, to print and delivery, always working within your deadlines.

Thanks for taking the time to find out more and look forward to supporting and elevating your business.

Q & A

Whats the best thing to happen to you in your career to date?

Just taking the leap to a career I'm passionate about and creating my own business has been truly rewarding to see it grow and experience many achievements over the past 10 years. Helping a business to transform their brand is a massive high.

What does a typical work week look like for you?:

Extremely busy and varied! There is no 'typical week' in this industry, with a vast range of clients from differing industries and different projects to work on, no two weeks are the same!

Describe your working environment in a few sentences..

A virtual design studio, so liaising with clients online - isn't technology amazing! To be able to have video meetings with clients across the country (or world) from your desktop is pretty amazing. We have an amazing team of designers based around Australia and service clients Australia wide, in New Zealand and globally.

What sets you apart from other freelancers in your industry?

I often have new clients complaining that designers lack communicate skills. They take far too long to reply with a quote let alone start a project! I'm used to working to (often tight) deadlines and producing high quality artwork. I believe the high service level, factored with design skills, great communication and a one-stop shop with design, print and digital publications make it so easy for clients to work with us.

What are the tools of your trade?

There are many! Of course like most professional designers the various programs in the Adobe Creative Suite get a constant workout. My faithful desktop Mac (more than one screen required) and laptop are never far from my side. I also have many Microsoft programs to fulfill clients needs too. Plus we use great software to create digital publications. There are so many new amazing apps, there's something new to learn and utilise every day to continue to keep systems efficient!

Do you collaborate with others? If yes, how does that works?

For sure, I have a number of specialists I collaborate with depending on the project and client needs. I have an amazing Australian based design team who we continue to grow to keep up with the growth of my business.

Whats been the biggest freelancing lesson to date?

Systems and processes! For a long time everything was stored in my head, and I've learnt over time the benefits of creating systems and processes to create a more efficient workflow.
